The run up to Christmas with a festive seasonal trail has become a very popular community event.
This family fun activity attracts both locals and visitors alike to complete the trail in Linlithgow town centre and this year’s Elf on the Shelf trail has been just as popular as ever. Last year’s snowman trail was a massive success with hundreds of trail leaflets filled out by eager participants, who each get a small treat when they hand in their completed entry at Tesco.
The magic of the Elf on the Shelf Trail begins well before Christmas day. In late November, all the elves were placed in business windows, with every one of them having a name. The One Linlithgow (Business Improvement District) team delivered 40 elves to businesses along with the trail flyers. But not all elf names are on the flyer.
Local businesses also dress their shop windows with festive displays, filling the High Street with seasonal charm.
Local businesses have put lots of effort into their festive windows, so don’t forget to vote for the best designed festive window when completing the elf on the shelf trail.
Where to collect a free Elf on the Shelf trail map?
The Elf on the Shelf event is free and trail maps can be picked up from our BID information rack in Tesco Linlithgow. Many of the local businesses will also be distributing the trail flyers. Once you’ve completed the trial map, hand into Tesco customer services.
You will be entered into the draw to win a special prize.
Linlithgow Monthly Loyalty Draw
Did you know there is a monthly draw to win £20, £30 or £50 vouchers to spend locally in Linlithgow? To participate, pick up a stamp card from a participating retailer. Collect your stamps in local shops; then hand in to Lilypond Crafts and Gifts or Complete Health at each end of the High Street. You can pick one up when completing the elf on the shelf trail on the run up to Christmas.

Linlithgow Gift Voucher
One Linlithgow has also introduced a Linlithgow Gift voucher in time for Christmas. It can be used in all outlets that accept also participate in the Loyalty Draw. The gift vouchers can be bought from Lilypond Crafts and Gifts or Complete Health in Linlithgow.
There is an obvious advantage of a town-wide gift card against one for an individual business. This arises if one goes out of business, then the gift voucher can be used in a range of other places in the town.
